Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority announces it has commissioned Fort Smith-muralist Bryan Alexis to create a mural in the Chaffee Crossing Historic and Entertainment District. The mural will be named “Impact Area” to identify with the thousands of soldiers, refugees, evacuees, and civilian workers whose life paths brought them to Fort Chaffee, formerly Camp Chaffee, a World War II-era U.S. Army training camp established in 1941-1942. The installation will be located at 7301 Fort Chaffee Blvd., Fort Smith, Arkansas.
