Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette - Arkansas' second-largest city will be the home of two brand-new permanent entertainment districts.
The Fort Smith Board of Directors on Tuesday approved two ordinances to establish separate permanent entertainment districts. One will be in downtown Fort Smith, and the other will be in the Chaffee Crossing Historic Area.

At its October 15 regular monthly meeting, the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority (FCRA) Board of Trustees issued a resolution in support of Issue 1, a proposed constitutional amendment to be decided by voters during the November 3 election period which provides for a current one-half percent fuel tax to become permanent.
