New center will expand pediatric therapy services and create room for growth.
A growing regional pediatric therapy provider is making a significant investment in Chaffee Crossing.
In-Sync Pediatric Therapy Center is developing a new 15,000-plus square-foot facility on Chad Colley Boulevard, with completion planned for Spring 2027. The new center will become In-Sync’s Fort Smith location, replacing its temporary Barling site while the organization continues to operate its existing Van Buren facility.
The project brings together healthcare, workforce growth, education and quality-of-life services in a facility designed around the needs of children and families.
In-Sync provides pediatric occupational, physical, speech and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The organization’s model emphasizes collaboration across therapeutic disciplines so children can receive coordinated care rather than treating each service in isolation.
The new center will include two large physical therapy gyms, dedicated occupational and speech therapy treatment rooms, multiple ABA therapy suites and specialized spaces designed to help children learn and grow.
The new facility’s Play Village will include child-sized interactive environments such as a fire station, grocery store, salon, doctor/dentist office and home setting. These spaces will allow children to work on communication, social, daily living and functional skills in realistic situations while still learning in a supportive therapy environment.
This real-world approach fits closely with In-Sync’s broader philosophy of treating the whole child and coordinating services across disciplines.
In-Sync owner and president Jocelyn Mitchelle said she chose the new Chaffee Crossing site because of its location and surrounding amenities.
The new center is on Chad Colley Boulevard, adjacent to Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE). Nearby parks, gardens, playgrounds and businesses also create opportunities for children to practice life skills outside a traditional clinical environment.
In-Sync also partners with ACHE to provide occupational therapy and physical therapy training and internship opportunities for students. That relationship creates a natural connection between a growing pediatric healthcare provider and Chaffee Crossing’s major educational institution.
In-Sync currently employs approximately 55 team members. In-Sync owner and president Jocelyn Mitchelle expects to relocate 34 team members from the organization’s temporary Barling location to the new Chaffee Crossing facility. The new building will provide additional space for In-Sync to grow its team and expand services as demand increases.
This project is more than a new building. It is an expansion of the Chaffee Crossing healthcare community, offering specialized employment and future job growth. The new therapy center strengthens a broad cluster of healthcare and education activity centered around Arkansas Colleges of Health Education.
Our community continues to attract employers, healthcare providers, educational institutions, retailers, service businesses and residential development, creating an environment where people can live, work, learn and access services within the same growing area.
The In-Sync project fits that vision particularly well: a purpose-built healthcare facility, a growing workforce, a partnership with higher education and a service focused on children and families.
“We are incredibly excited about the new building and what it will allow us to do for the children and families we serve,” Mitchelle said.
